Kia ora koutou,

Thank you for your unwavering support of our music programmes over these challenging past few months. Whilst we were incredibly grateful to be able to connect with your whānau through online lessons, it simply cannot compare to the connection and engagement that in-person lessons provide.

He waka eke noa.

This whakataukī essentially means "a waka we are all in together", which can be interpreted to "we are all in this together" – we rise together, fall together, work together, keep going together.

At the end of Term 3, our wonderful Admin Assistant Elise Caldwell left us to pursue freelance opportunities. Elise has been an integral part of the Music School team and we are so appreciative of all the hard work she has done over the last two years. Stepping into this role from Term 4 is Leah Martin who brings a wealth of experience in administration and customer services, and we are delighted to have her join our small but mighty team.

Here’s to a smooth sailing term.

STUDENT CONCERTS

Partner Schools:
Due to the ongoing uncertainty around COVID restrictions, we have made the difficult decision to cancel several end-of-year concerts at our partner schools. We understand that this will be very disappointing news, particularly for our school leavers. The safety of our students is of utmost importance to us and we look forward to when we can share the joy of music together again in person. Thank you for your understanding.

Great South Road Studios:
The Term 4 Student Concert for Great South Road students will take place at the Lewis Eady Steinway Piano Showroom on Sunday 28 November, 11:00am (Session 1) and 12:00pm (Session 2). Please note the date and times and we will provide further details closer to time. Venue entry restrictions may apply.

Lewis Eady Music School tutor Adam Thorndyke got his first guitar at around 5-6 years old and has never looked back. Adam currently teaches guitar at our partner schools and at our Great South Road studios and writes and produces his own music in his home studio.
