We have the credibility of having been around since 1884 and unlike some of the "supermarket" style music stores, we only specialise in pianos and guitars.

In 2016 we totally revitalised our business to meet the modern music customer.  We believe purchasing an instrument that's right for you is a considered choice and because of that belief we have rebuilt our showroom to reflect an atmosphere that’s unhurried, honest and informative.

And to make sure you feel welcome, we’ve also created a cozy café - NOTE - inside our store so you can enjoy great coffee & eats whilst having a think about that brand new guitar or piano.

We understand the joy you get when you take your new guitar home and that’s why we spend a lot of time getting to know you first. Whether you’re a professional player or a first timer, we try to find out what you are looking for in terms of tone, playability and soul.

Each one of our guitars is specially selected and we want you to try out our range of instruments from our more inexpensive models right through to our top end guitars from Martin, Fender and Alhambra.

The Lewis Eady Music School is New Zealand's largest independent music educator, catering to students of all ages and abilities.

We design specific tuition for each individual, as we believe there is no one size fits all approach to learning. Our teachers are all qualified in their particular fields and together with our enthusiastic support crew you can be sure you will be welcomed and looked after.

Whilst dozens of our students have gone onto to win music trophies at the highest level, we also recognise not everyone is aiming to be the next Justin Bieber or Taylor Swift.
