LEWIS EADY MUSIC SCHOOL

PLEASE READ OUR TERMS & CONDITIONS

FEES

  • Fees are charged on a 'per term' basis and must be paid within seven days of the invoice.

  • Fees can be paid by internet banking, credit card, Eftpos, or cash at our retail store on 75 Great South Road, Epsom.

    • Bank account details: LTK (Chiron) Ltd trading as Lewis Eady, ASB, Auckland.  12-3678-0005765-00

    • When making payment for your lessons, please remember to include your invoice number (you will find this on your emailed invoice) and the full name of the student.

  • Once the invoice has been generated, you remain liable to pay the invoice in full. Should you wish to cancel lessons after you have received your invoice, the usual four weeks’ notice of cancellation and costs apply until we receive in writing (i.e., email) advising us that you wish to cancel your lessons.

  • We offer a 5% discount on your fees when there is more than one person in your family scheduled for music lessons. This discount also applies if a student has been scheduled for more than one lesson per week. If you are entitled to the discount, your invoice will reflect it. Please note that in the event of late payment, the discount will be discontinued. If you enrol a second student or add an additional lesson partway through a term, a 5% discount will be applied to your invoice for the second student/lesson only. The 5% discount will then apply to both the new student/lesson and the existing student/lesson at the start of the next new term.

  • Any overdue accounts will be subject to additional collection fees (i.e., compulsory late payment fee of $50) and may be handled by a third party credit control. Lessons may be suspended or cancelled by us and costs of recovery of any overdue amount charged to you. Lessons missed due to late payment of term fees are not refundable.

CONFIRMING LESSON DAYS/TIMES

  • Once a lesson time slot is reserved for you, it becomes unavailable to other customers. Therefore, please make sure your lesson day and time will work with you before your time slot is reserved for you.

  • There is 4 weeks’ notice of cancellation period that applies to all lesson bookings.

WITHDRAWAL FROM LESSONS

  • Your booking for music lessons is yours until you let us know in writing that you no longer require lessons. All enrolled students will be invited to re-enrol at the end of each calendar year.

  • We require four weeks’ notice if you intend to withdraw from lessons. If insufficient notice is given, you will be charged the four week cancellation period.

  • Notification of cancellation must be emailed to musicschool@lewiseady.co.nz, not via tutors or other Lewis Eady or Chiron staff members.

  • Should a change in lesson day/time be required by us (due to unforeseen circumstances), you will be contacted by us with details and options.

MUSIC BOOKS

  • The cost of music books is not included in your term fees. As soon as your tutor has selected which book/s will best suit your or your child’s learning style, you will be contacted by our admin or retail team with the details of required book/s and how to order.

  • Books can be ordered via email or purchased directly from our retail store.

  • All purchases are eligible for the 5% Music School discount - please mention this at check out.

  • Due to copyright law, we are unable to photocopy printed material.

GENERAL

  • Payment: Please do not give payment for your term fees to your tutor. Our tutors are not permitted to receive these payments.

  • Tutors: We cannot guarantee that your child will be allocated to the same tutor every term/year or the tutor of their choice. We reserve the right to provide a relieving teacher where necessary.

  • Missed lessons or absences at Lewis Eady Music School (75 Great South Road): If our tutor is unable to teach (e.g. illness), we will provide a relieving tutor to teach that lesson. If we are not able to provide a relieving tutor, you will be advised of cancellation of the lesson that day and a credit will be applied to your account for the missed lesson. We cannot provide a credit if you miss your lesson for any other reason. If you are going to miss a lesson, you are welcome to nominate another person (e.g. a friend or family member) to take your lesson in your place; we request that you let us know the name of the person you have nominated at least 24 hours before next your lesson day and time.

  • Missed lessons or absences at our partner schools: If our tutor is unable to teach (e.g. illness), we will provide a relieving tutor to teach that lesson. If we are not able to provide a relieving tutor, you will be advised of cancellation of the lesson that day and a credit will be applied to your account for the missed lesson. Credits can only be applied to accounts with full payment of term fees. To request a credit for a missed lesson due to a school activity (e.g., school camp, inter-school sports), please email musicschool@lewiseady.co.nz after the missed lesson, providing the name and date of the school activity. Credits must be requested for the applicable term within two weeks of the missed lesson to be eligible for approval and processing (e.g., credits for Term 1 cannot be processed if requested in Term 2 or subsequent terms). We are unable to provide replacement lessons or credits where your child is absent from school for any other reason than school activities (e.g. illness, family holiday).

  • Teacher Only Days: From Term 2, 2022, any music lessons affected by Teacher / Staff Only Days will continue via Skype.

  • From time to time, we will email or text you information about promotions at our retail store and sister schools. If you no longer wish to receive this information, simply reply "STOP" to the message.

HOLIDAY PROGRAMMES

  • All holiday programmes are subject to sufficient enrolments being received. Places will be allocated in the order they are received.

  • Enrolment will be confirmed once payment has been received.

ONLINE LESSONS (via Skype)

  • The Skype lesson is only available to be utilised between the music tutor and the intended student per the contracted lesson arrangement with Lewis Eady Music School.

  • Your Skype lesson is covered by your usual term or lesson fee. We cannot provide credits for missed or unattended Skype lessons, in effect from Term 2, 2021 (i.e. 3/5/2021).

  • Your Skype information must be received by the Music School admin office at least 24 hours prior to your lesson or you will need to wait until the following week for the Skype lesson.

  • All views expressed in Skype lessons are strictly of that tutor’s personal opinions.

  • To ensure optimum lesson experience, please make sure you are in a quiet space with minimal disruptions. Supervision from a parent or adult caregiver throughout the lesson is essential, in case of unexpected issues (i.e. WIFI connection, incorrect camera angle).

  • We are not able to provide refunds for discontinued or disrupted lessons due to connection issues from the students’ end.

  • Tutors will call students via Skype at their designated lesson time, unless otherwise specified.

  • All students agree not to record (audio and/or visual) these Skype lessons in any way.

  • All students under the age of 13 must operate Skype strictly under the supervision of their parents or caregivers. Skype has a number of security measures in place to help protect children, who have appropriate parental permissions to use Skype, from being contacted by strangers online - read the full list here. For more tips on staying safe online, please visit Netsafe.

  • Please note that our usual terms and conditions apply during this period - including four weeks’ notice of cancellation.
