Since 1853, Steinway pianos have set the standard for sound, touch, beauty, and investment value. Today, each hand crafted Steinway piano is a culmination of their commitment to innovation and quality - whether it is an upright piano, baby grand piano or performance piano.

Not surprisingly, Steinway pianos remain the choice of 9 out of 10 concert artists, and countless pianists, composers, and performers around the world.

Lewis Eady Ltd is an award winning Steinway piano dealership and has proudly represented Steinway & Sons pianos for over 80 years.

This Steinway designed piano range is full and beautifully balanced. Boston's duplex scale, adapted from the famous Steinway design, adds a harmonic richness of tone that simply cannot be duplicated.

The Boston's reduced string tension allows a larger tapered soundboard creating longer sustain and more singing quality in the tone, as well as longer piano life. Steinway Musical Properties, owners of the world's legendary piano manufacturer Steinway & Sons, formed the Boston Piano Company.

The Steinway designed Essex piano incorporates the latest design specifications and engineering standards from Steinway & Sons. In keeping with Steinway's commitment to excellence, Steinway & Sons provides technical assistance for the production of Essex pianos. This ensures that Essex pianos are made to specifications established by Steinway.

Every Essex instrument is inspected by a team of highly experienced Steinway & Sons technicians in Germany before they are shipped around the world.

Kawai has used its three generations of Japanese excellence to create the most advanced piano company in the world. Since 1927, Kawai has been building pianos recognised to be among the finest in the world and have advanced the technology of pianos through their commitment to innovation.

Kawai was also the choice of New Zealander, John Chen, winner of the 2004 Sydney International Piano Competition.

The famous Millennium III Action features components made of ABS-Carbon, a new composite material created by the infusion of carbon into the existing ABS Styran.

The authentic sound of Kawai Digital Pianos begins with the world renowned KAWAI EX Concert grand piano. Placed inside an anechoic chamber, free of audio reflections, the rich sound of this world class instrument is meticulously analysed and recorded by Master Piano Artisans.

The acoustic portrait of each note is later transformed into a precise three dimensional digital representation, employing Kawai's proprietary Harmonic Imaging technology. This unique process faithfully reproduces the broad dynamic range of the original grand piano, from subtle pianissimos to thunderous fortissimos.

When Lewis Eady Ltd. decided to start importing second hand pianos from Japan it was done with significant care. Time and effort was put in to ensuring we only received the best quality instruments.

Lewis Eady Ltd has a passion for pianos and customer service which has been passed down for four generations.

Since 1884 our Auckland piano showroom has been the place to buy pianos in New Zealand.
