WELCOME TO TERM 4

A warm welcome to our returning students and to those beginning their musical journey with us. We’re so glad to have you with us and hope you are looking forward to an exciting 10 weeks of music-making ahead

Music is to the soul what words are to the mind
— Modest Mouse

A big congratulations to all the pupils who performed in their end-of-year concerts in Term 3. It was a joy to see you on stage, sharing your hard work and musical talents. We’re excited to watch the rest of our pupils perform in the upcoming concerts at our partner schools, and we can’t wait to hear what you’ve been working on.

For those who haven’t performed yet, your schools will be in touch closer to the time with details about dates and times.

Tutor Spotlight

Lewis Eady Music School tutors are motivated, committed, musically qualified and love sharing their knowledge - they are musicians teaching music

This term, we caught up with Otis Christoffersen and Alexander Botha

Otis Christoffersen teaches guitar and bass guitar, bringing both his recent Bachelor of Music from the University of Auckland and his experience as a performer to his lessons. Inspired by bands like Radiohead, U2, and Talking Heads, he’s developed his own solo projects and worked as a session guitarist at top Auckland venues, and now shares that same passion and creativity with his students.

Alexander Botha teaches piano, keyboard, and trombone. Alexander completed his ABRSM Grade 8 in piano before going on to study classical piano performance at the University of Auckland. He’s performed in musicals, played with the Auckland Youth Orchestra, and even represented New Zealand at the Young Euro Classic Festival in Berlin - all while sharing his love of music with students.
