My warmest welcome to both our returning students and those just starting their musical journey with us this term.

End-of-year concerts at our partner schools continue in Term 4, providing a friendly, relaxed, and encouraging atmosphere for students to demonstrate and celebrate their musical progress in front of their whānau and friends. I will be attending as many of these concerts as I can and look forward to connecting with you all.

For students at our Great South Road Studios, please read on to find out more about another performance opportunity at the beautiful Lewis Eady Steinway NZ Showroom.

Remember, it’s never too late to learn a musical instrument. The first step is to complete our online enrolment form - click here. Or email any questions to our dedicated admin team at musicschool@lewiseady.co.nz.

Thank you for being part of our music family.

Here's to a tuneful Term 4!

END-OF-YEAR CONCERTS at partner schools

Tutor Irena and Music School Manager Gemma after a successful end-of-year concert at St Michael’s School Remuera in Term 3.

Each year, Lewis Eady music students at partner schools are invited to perform in front of friends and whānau to celebrate and acknowledge their musical progress. Always a highlight in the Music School calendar, I look forward to seeing many students perform at their schools this term.

Unfortunately, end-of-year concerts will not be taking place at the following partner schools this year: Hillsborough Primary School, Kōwhai Intermediate School, Saint Kentigern Preschool, St Joseph’s Ōrākei Catholic School.

Students: Please discuss this with your tutor at your next lesson.

Parents/Caregivers: An email invitation will be sent to you up to two weeks before each concert date. Please follow the school’s sign-in/-out and health & safety procedures.

Any questions, please email musicschool@lewiseady.co.nz.

INTRODUCING NEW TUTORS

Natalie Hutton - guitar, singing, songwriting

Originally from Christchurch, Nat started learning the guitar at the age of eight and have been in love with the instrument ever since. Shortly after learning the guitar, Nat began songwriting and singing, which has now become her career; she is one of the singers and guitarists from the indie pop band 'There's A Tuesday', who won the 2019 Smokefree Rockquest, catapulting them into the NZ music scene.

In 2022, they signed to BENNE's record label, 'Olive Records' and since have released music and toured around New Zealand and Australia, playing multiple headline tours and have even gone on tour with some of their favourite artists, including Conan Grey, Julia Jacklin, The Beths, and Spacey Jane. Nat's composition, "Girl at Night", was named a Top 5 Finalist in the 2022 APRA Silver Scroll Awards, a huge personal achievement for Nat which emphasised her love for songwriting.

Luca García Ferrari - guitar (incl. electric and bass)

With a bachelor's degree in jazz bass performance from the University of Auckland, Luca is making a name for himself in the Auckland music scene, often seen playing with many different artists in the studio and on stage and composing music and bandleading for his projects. He also has a passion for event organisation, and his efforts were recognised in 2021 when he received the APRA AMCOS Auckland City of Music Young Gigmaker's Grant.

With a varied set of experiences in multiple genres, including jazz, pop, and rock, Luca is excited to share his knowledge and inspiration with students.
