THE GRAND PIANO ACADEMY

Our exciting term one programme features some of New Zealand leading piano professors - Stephen de Pledge, Richard Liu and Sarah Watkins in addition to Lewis Eady’s own specialist piano tutors.  The course will run for the next five Sundays from 10.30am to 12.30pm and will be held in the Lewis Eady Showroom - commencing this Sunday, 28 February 2016.

Over the duration of the course, students will each share a prepared piece, three of which will be worked on per session.  Each week, an invited piano expert will demonstrate and discuss a new aspect of playing which will then be workshopped on one of our Steinway Model B Concert Grands.  A range of subjects will be covered including sight-reading, improvisation, performance, the language of musical terms, posture and the Alexander technique, rhythms, time signatures and effective counting, use of foot-pedals, how to interpret a piece of music and aural and vocal development.

This term’s programme is strictly limited to 20 participants.
