Alhambra was born in Muro del Alcoy, a small town near Valencia, Spain in the early 1960’s. At that time, Alhambra was named Manufacturas Hachi and was close to closing its doors to the public forever. When José Botella drove to Muro del Alcoy to accompany his friend wanting to purchase a nylon string Spanish guitar, he learned of the company’s financial trouble, he convinced his father to support the business and finally took control of the company in 1965. They then re-named the company Manufacturas Alhambra, S.A.
The 1C series of Alhambra guitars is the perfect beginners’ instrument for all ages. The series contains four guitars in all sizes for all ages. The Requinto ½ size, Cadete ¾ size and Señorita 7/8 size and the full size 1C are all made of the same materials; solid German Spruce top Mahogany back and sides and an Indian Rosewood fingerboard.
If you are after a fully solid hand crafted Classical, we have a wide range of high end Alhambra guitars also. These guitars are truly pieces of art and are considered second to none. Although modern techniques have their place in Alhambra, all of their guitars are built in a traditional Spanish way.
