Become your child’s first music teacher and share with them the magic of music-making!
Singing Rainbows will tap into your pre-schooler's natural creativity enabling them to develop their own unique repertoire of music and movement. All Singing Rainbows programmes are parent/child interactive. Groups are divided into pre-school developmental stages: 1½ to 2½ years, 2½ to 4 years, 4 to 5 years.
For pre-school children from 18 months of age, Singing Rainbows classes incorporate a repertoire of action songs, fingerplays, knee rides, puppetry, folk dancing, ensemble percussion playing, creative expression through movement and story-telling. Creative use of both natural and manufactured common objects and sounds result in some very innovative music-making and a range of musical styles is explored including European, Maori and Pacific Island traditions. Children learn to listen to and recognise sounds, silence and a range of tempos.
