WHAT WE DO
The Trusts main aims are to provide talented young musicians with quality performance opportunities in order for them to gain experience and further their careers. Additionally, once a base fund is established, it is hoped that the trust will be able to offer education scholarships and tuition grants to exceptional musicians.
2008 saw the introduction of the successful ‘Emerging Artist Series’ and ‘Steinway House Concert Series’, both of which showcased some of the best pianists from Schools of Music throughout New Zealand. In addition to these two series, the Trust is responsible for the Auckland Junior Music Contest which was established in 1980, and the Auckland International Piano Festival which will be re launched this year as the NZ International Piano Festival.
